About Us
Back To Our Roots was born from saltwater and sunlight.
It began when I first travelled to Egypt to learn how to scuba dive. I was living in London at the time, saving every penny I could to escape the city and train on the Red Sea during the winter months. Sometimes I was lucky enough to be sponsored, and am forever grateful to those who helped make it possible.
What kept drawing me back was not only the diving - it was the rhythm of life there. In the mornings I began with sunrise yoga, days were spent immersed in the ocean, and evenings unfolded by the fire over shared meals and unhurried conversations. I began to understand a slower, more intentional way of living. I also saw how scuba diving, yoga, and conservation are deeply connected. All three are anchored in the breath. All three insist that we are present. All three ask us to take care.
Later, I found that same grounded beauty in Sardinia. I was welcomed by Alo and Sandra, who’ve created a sanctuary in the heart of the island. There, I fell into another rhythm; one shaped by forest walks, lake swims, lemon trees, and long, starlit dinners. Sardinia, too, became a second home. A place where slowness is a strength, and simplicity a daily practice.
Over time, I realised how deeply I needed this balance. Working in fast-paced event production - managing logistics for global conferences and brand activations - I was used to long hours, screens, and city life. But these moments outdoors, in wild water and open air, reminded me what it felt like to truly connect.

When I returned to my hometown in Norfolk, I was startled by the beauty I had grown up around but somehow forgotten. I began to notice the land again… the tides and textures, and changing skies. I started to tune into the small things; the shift in seasons, the joy of a cold dip, the moon and the smell of honeysuckle at dusk.
These places (and more importantly, the communities within them), have reshaped how I live. And now, they inspire how I hope to guide others to live too.

Back To Our Roots was created to honour that learning.
It’s a space to reconnect; with nature, with your body, with other humans. Through retreats and shared adventures, we explore a different pace: one that follows the sun, celebrates seasonal food, values local knowledge, and centres real-life connection. We’re not here to escape the world, but to remember how to be in it, more fully.
Wherever we meet; underwater, around a fire, or gathered at the table… I hope you leave feeling more spacious, more rooted, and more alive.
